From Ghana Business News

Naomie Azaria, Minister in charge of Trade and Commerce for the Benin Republic, has said, her country is ready to ensure the full integration of Africa states to promote trade.

She said the government of Benin is not paying lip service to African integration and has ensured that citizens of other member states go through their various borders without any hassle.

Azaria disclosed this when the Benin Republic recently held its national day at the on-going 7th ECOWAS (Economic Community Of West African States) Trade Fair in Accra.

She called on other heads of states in Africa to ensure that there is full integration in order to promote trade among them.

She told businessmen who were at the ceremony that the government of Benin is focusing on achieving economic development through the stimulation and development of the private sector.

“The strategic definition by the government to achieve our objective is to rebuild an efficient and modern administration serving the general interest and development of the private sector and reorganizing the macroeconomic environment and maintaining its stability,” she said.

Azaria said there are many investment prospects in Benin and called on investors to take advantage.

Nouhoum Assouman, Benin Ambassador to Ghana commended the government of Ghana for the economic stability and called for a continued mutual cooperation between the two countries.
