Community Fundraising Backs ICT Center in Ghana

From Ghana Business News

The Dodome-Doglome and Dodome-Awuiasu communities on Saturday raised an amount of GHc10,100.00 ($5,000) towards the completion of an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) centre for the local Junior High School estimated at about GHc50,000 ($23,000).

The fund-raising was done at a joint durbar to climax this year’s traditional Yam Festival celebrations under the theme, “The significance of ICT Education in contemporary Ghana-the role of the citizen.”

The event marked the resumption of co-operation between Dodome-Doglome and Dodome-Awuiasu communities in marshalling resources for development after 25 years of suspension.

The resumption of co-operation between the two neighbouring communities received a boost of GHc3,500 and 150 bags of cement from Nii Laryea Afotey Agbo, Volta Regional Minister, Ben Spencer Dagadu, deputy Minister for Energy and Emmanuel Bedzra, Member of Parliament for Ho-West, as well as the Ho-West District Assembly.
