T.I.’s Daughter, Deyjah Harris, Unfollows Him After ‘Hymen Check’ Outrage

Talk about being an overprotective father. Rapper T.I. proved he goes far beyond being overprotective. T.I. recently revealed during an interview that he goes annually with his daughter, Deyjah Harris, to the gynecologist to have her hymen checked to make sure she is still a virgin.

The admission backfired on the rapper. Backlash came not only women’s groups. His 18-year-old daughter unfollowed him on social media.

T.I.’s “virginity test” has been both debunked and denounced by medical professionals. There are various ways a hymen could be broken without ever having intercourse.

Although Deyjah Harris has yet to publicly address her dad’s comments, she did “like” several tweets which referred to T.I. as “possessive” and “controlling.”

Harris is also no longer following T.I.’s wife, Tameka “Tiny” Cottle, or her stepsister Zonnique Pullins, Hollywood Unlocked reported.

During an interview with the “Ladies Like Us” podcast, T.I. boasted that he knows his daughter is still a virgin because her hymen is still intact.

“We have yearly trips to the gynecologist to check her hymen,” he said. “As of her 18th birthday, her hymen is still intact.”

I said, ‘Look doc, she don’t ride no horses, she don’t ride no bike, she don’t play no sports, man. Just check the hymen please and give me back my results, expeditiously,” he recalled, laughing. “But I will say, as of her 18th birthday, her hymen is still intact.”

The podcast episode has since been deleted.

“The backlash from fans and celebrities was swift. Many called the rapper out for the outdated practice, which the World Health Organization has called “a violation of the human rights of girls and women” and “has no scientific validity.” WHO also said the so-called “‘two-finger’ test can be ‘detrimental to women’s and girls’ physical, psychological and social well-being,’” The New York Post reported.

Tiny, however, reacted when asked about Deyjah’s well-being.

“Most recently, Tiny posted a photo of her and T.I. to Instagram, and took the time to briefly respond to a follower who was curious to know how Deyjah was doing since her father’s comments made headlines,” BET  reported.

“Is Deyjah okay? We care,” the fan wrote, to which Tiny responded with four eye-roll emojis.
