Award-winning singer John Legend and his wife model and author Chrissy Teigen have publicly endorsed Sen. Elizabeth Warren for president. The couple revealed Warren as the candidate of their choice in a Vanity Fair article released yesterday.
“My favorite – I’m going to say it, we’ll break news today – is Elizabeth Warren. She’s the best candidate running today and she comes at it with joy and with sincerity and with a wealth of knowledge and experience,” Legend replied when asked who they would support in the 2020 election. “I love Elizabeth Warren … I also love Kamala Harris,” Tiegen added.

Jamarlin talks about the recent backlash against Lebron James for not speaking up for Joshua Wong and the violent Hong Kong protestors.
“Honestly, I don’t comprehend why guys hate women so much sometimes,” Legend continued. “You see someone as transparently competent and eloquent and on fire as Elizabeth Warren and then you hear some guys just are not into voting for a woman. Why do guys feel so threatened by the idea of a woman president?”
In response to the couple’s statements, Warren’s campaign tweeted a line from legend’s quote and added “We agree.” along with a happy emoji. The Massachusetts Senator also tweeted how “grateful” she was for the celebrity couple’s support. Legend and Teigen are both vocal critics of President Donald Trump, who attacked the pair in a tweet in September. He replied he was looking forward to her presidency.
Warren has been rising in the polls lately, catching up to current frontrunner for the Democratic nomination, former Vice President Joe Biden. Among the policies she supports are reparations for slavery and eliminating student loan debt. She has also received support from other celebrities, reported The Washington Post.
