Wale dropped his highly anticipated new album, “Wow … that’s Crazy,” Oct. 10 on World Mental Health Day. The date seemed intentional as the Nigerian-American MC said he almost lost his sanity and over $1 million dollars after his last project.

“I been an open book to y’all on here for better or worse .. I been through so much since my last project … I lost over an M on some legal stuff. I lost friends and almost my sanity . But y’all held this thing together … tonight I release this balloon,” Wale tweeted early Friday morning.

On Oct. 2, Wale made the announcement about the album’s release in a trailer on his Instagram page. In the trailer, Wale is in a therapy session with actress Tetona Jackson, reported HypeBeast.

She asked him “Who is the real Wale?” After offering a series of answers, he at one point says, “Imagine that … a Black man truly in love with himself.”
