It’s no secret that Killer Mike is a staunch advocate for Black people. He uses his top-notch intellect and talent to teach history, highlight discrimination and provide solutions to combat systemic racism and oppression. Now the Atlanta MC is asking other Blacks join him in supporting Byron Allen, who’s headed to the Supreme Court to fight Comcast over civil rights violations, The Grio reported.

Allen is the founder, CEO and chairman of Los Angeles-based Entertainment Studios Networks (ESN). He filed lawsuits against Comcast and Charter Communications for a combined $30 million for racial discrimination. He is seeking $20 billion from Comcast and $10 billion from Charter, respectively. However, the Supreme Court is only hearing the Comcast case at this time.

Since Killer Mike believes elevating Black people will come through economic empowerment and entrepreneurship, he admires Allen.

“I’ve watched Byron Allen and how he works since I was a kid. I love his TV shows and how he eventually started programming shows in those late-night slots. He would purchase the time slots that used to be for infomercials, turn around and sell those ads for his shows. Genius,” Mike exclaimed to The Grio.

Allen has accused Comcast and Charter of failing to license his channels and do business with his network because of racial bias, hence violating the Civil Rights Bill of 1866.

Mike said Entertainment Studios Network produces quality programming so carrying its channels should be a no-brainer. ESN is home to Pets TV, Comedy TV, Recipe TV, Justice Central TV and recently acquired The Weather Channel.

“If Allen is playing fair, and he has the capacity to produce quality programming, why would they not allow him space at Comcast? You can’t say people are not interested- everyone needs the weather,” Killer Mike said.

If Allen’s case is not successful, Killer Mike is admonishing Black people as a whole to support the cause by canceling Comcast altogether.

“If everything does not go as planned in this case, Black people have to pull out of Comcast all together,” Mike said. “We also have to look at the political parties that aren’t supporting him and pull our support from them. We cannot look at this as if we are only fighting for Byron Allen. This is bigger than that.”
