Contrary to popular belief, Oprah Winfrey is not invincible after all. The 65-year-old media mogul recently shared she had a “very serious” battle with pneumonia, reported ABC News.

During an appearance Monday on the The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Winfrey shared she’d just been cleared by doctors. Winfrey said she was diagnosed with pneumonia after going to the emergency room (ER) upon her return from overseas for what she thought was a bad head cold.

“Pneumonia is nothing to play with, y’all. It is very serious,” she said, revealing she was eventually referred to see a lung specialist after the antibiotics and other treatment weren’t working. “He puts his stethoscope here and I see the ‘Oh s**t’ face. It is like, ‘Oh my … something’s wrong with you.’ And I could see it. He didn’t hide it.”

Winfrey said her doctor ordered her to cancel everything, which was difficult because she said she’s never canceled anything in her life. After drawing 18-vials of blood and putting her on a treatment plan, Winfrey said her doctor called her every day to make sure she was following the treatment.

“Pneumonia is nothing to play with y’all. It Is very serious. Don’t play with it and get your flu shots, get your pneumonia shots, it’s nothing to play with,” Winfrey told the audience. “But I’m telling you it changed the way I look at wellness.”

Winfrey said she will go on tour soon to talk about it, but she is not the only icon to have a serious bout with pneumonia recently. “The View” host and actress Whoopi Goldberg also went through a near-death battle with the illness.
