The India-based National Association of Software Service Companies (NASSOM), is looking at Uganda as its next business process outsourcing destination because of cheap labor and high literacy levels.

Using cheap but highly skilled labor which often helps in addressing unemployment, they say, will improve on efficiency.

Anand Nagarajan, head of an association delegation, advised the government to take advantage of the literacy of Uganda’s youthful unemployed population. Most of these youth are computer literate. It is one of the qualities that outsourcing companies normally look for, Nagarajan said.
