Black Teen Who Shot At Car Of White Folks Says He Was Just Bustin’ Back

Devonta Allen, 18, has been charged with four counts of felony assault for shooting at four people in two cars while yelling “I don’t like white people in my hood,” reported the New York Post.

According to court documents, Allen was in the Kennedy Heights neighborhood of Cincinnati, Ohio on July 25 when the incident occurred. Video footage shows Allen chasing after the cars. He fired three shots and hit both cars, but missed everyone inside. Three occupants in the cars were white and one Black.

After a criminal complaint was filed, Allen turned himself in, reported Yahoo News. He admitted to the shooting, but claimed he was only returning fire after the alleged victims fired at him first.

Police say Allen’s claims conflict with the statements his alleged victims and witnesses made about the shooting. He is currently being held at Hamilton County Jail on $480,000 bond.
