Jeezy Invests In Black-Owned Affordable Cell Phone And Earbud Brand
Jeezy has excelled in hip-hop and business. Now the Grammy-nominated artist and entrepreneur has invested in a Black-owned telecommunications company to offer families more affordable mobile options. Through a new partnership with Freddie Figgers, founder of Figgers Communications, Jeezy will help bring to market a cell phone brand and other wireless products, reported the Atlanta Business Chronicle.
“There was a point in my life where I wasn’t able to pay the phone bill,” Jeezy said in a press release. “Now as a businessman and entrepreneur to be able to partner with Freddie [Figgers], someone who overcame similar life obstacles, and to give people more access to handheld technology at an affordable price, it’s a truly blessing.”
The first products to be released under the partnership are the F3 cellular phone and the F-Buds earpods. The release said the products aim to “rival current competitor standards, but at a much more attainable price point.”

Figgers, 29, was left in a dumpster as a baby, but has become a successful computer programmer and entrepreneur. He called his partnership with Jeezy “a natural evolution of two men who experienced some of the same challenges during our upbringing but rose above those circumstances to make our mark.”
“As the youngest African-American to own and operate an independent, U.S. based telecommunications company, I built Figgers Communications on the premise that telecommunications access should be attainable for everyone,” Figgers said.
The F3 cell phone retails for $449 and the F-Buds earpods for $49. Both have an array of cool features and can be pre-ordered at www.figgers.com.
Though Jeezy announced his retirement from hip-hop last year, he is still giving his fan base something to look forward to. Along with Benjamin Meadows Ingram, he is due to release the book “Trust Ya Process: How to Hustle from the Block to the Boardroom” in October.
