BET Announces New Series ‘Black Coffee’ With Marc Lamont Hill

There’s no debate people always want to hear the latest tea, but BET Networks thinks conversation is at its best over coffee. The network recently announced former CNN political commentator Marc Lamont Hill will host the live daily morning show “Black Coffee” beginning June 3 at 10 a.m., reported Broadway World.

The author, professor and activist will be joined by co-hosts Jameer Pond and Gia Peppers. On the half-hour daily segment, the trio will discuss Black Twitter’s trendiest topics and interview celebrities, athletes, influencers and other special guests. Topics will range from race, pop culture and music to politics, relationships and social justice.

David A. Wilson is BET’s SVP of Digital Content and Studios. He said they couldn’t be happier to have Hill aboard, Deadline reported.

“We are excited to have Marc host our new irreverent digital series. Marc is one of the nation’s leading voices on culture, entertainment, sports, and politics, with equal parts unfiltered wit and raw street savvy,” Wilson said.

Hill was fired by CNN for making controversial comments about Palestine. He is excited about his new venture with BET.

“BET Networks has been home to me for many years, and I am proud to expand our partnership with this innovative series. I look forward to galvanizing the Black community on our platforms and encouraging dialogue that moves the culture forward,” Hill said.
