Research Into Electronic Books Finds College -Educated Black Women Are The Most Likely To Read One

Black Women Read

There’s no mistake Black women have always been trendsetters. The phrase “Black Girl Magic” wasn’t coined just because. Several studies over the last few years have shown that sisters aren’t slowing down when it comes to leading the pack, particularly in knowledge and education.

For example, in 2016, a study by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) revealed Black women were the most educated group in America. Perhaps, that’s because a 2014 Pew Research study also revealed Black women with a college degree are the most likely to read a book, The Atlantic reported.

The reading statistic was found when Pew delved into the adoption of electronic e-book formats. The data revealed that college-educated Black women are more likely to read e-books as well as books in any other format.

These are just two examples of how Black women keep finding creative ways to blaze trails and get to the top, despite facing insurmountable odds like being underpaid and in immense debt.

To combat these issues, Black women are leveraging their knowledge to start businesses, fund other Black female entrepreneurs and more. Based on these studies, it’s not a reach to say it likely all started with them picking up a book.

Who is it again that said Black people don’t read?
