Mercedes-Benz’s ambitious expansion project of manufacturing operations in South Africa is set to hit a snag because of the labour laws, according to the CEO Martin Zimmermann.
He noted that the decision to halt the plan could have been necessitated by the visiting team from the parent company during their feasibility study. The high empowered delegation witnessed the Marikana killings of 34 miners killed by the police near Rustenburg.
