The company’s global manager for employee relations, Annie Wu, will now be the brand’s global leader for diversity and inclusiveness.

The move comes after the Swedish brand faced widespread criticism after a hoodie that read”Coolest Monkey In The Jungle,” appeared for sale on its website. Promotional images for the hoodie showed it being modeled by a young black boy.

Celebrities and consumers alike called for boycotts of the brand.

In announcing Wu’s new position, the company touched on the hoodie incident, stating, “the recent incident was entirely unintentional” but “demonstrates so clearly how big our responsibility is as a global brand.”
