Copperbelt Energy Corporation Africa to Boost Sierra Leone Power Infrastructure

CEC Africa Investments Limited (CECA), a subsidiary of Copperbelt Energy Corporation (CEC) Plc has entered into an agreement with TCQ Power Limited of Beirut to acquire majority equity holding in a Sierra Leonean energy firm, Blue Flare Power SL (BVI) Limited (BFP).

Consequently, BFP will be renamed CEC Africa (SL).

The agreement, which has been recognised by the Government of Sierra Leone, will entail CEC Africa developing power infrastructure in Freetown, the Sierra Leone capital of Freetown.

Sierra Leone Minister of Energy, Oluniyi Robbin-Coker, announced the investment agreement at the Africa Energy Forum 2013 in Barcelona, Spain recently.

Managing Director, Michael Tarney, said CEC Africa was committed to supporting the Government of Sierra Leone in building capacity in the power sector.
