A 30-member Chinese business delegation is in Cote d’Ivoire on a four-day visit to seek economic cooperation between the two countries, according to official sources.
The delegation headed by Feng Zuoku, vice president of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, arrived in Abidjan to explore business opportunities and reinforce economic cooperation with the West African country, which is the top cocoa producer in the world.
The Chinese team visits Cote d’Ivoire at the invitation of the governor of Abidjan district, Robert Beugre Mambe, who met his guests at the Felix Houphouet Boigny airport.
“We hope to do much together and we are counting on you to help us improve the living conditions of our people,” he told the delegation, appealing for “more fruitful” economic cooperation between Cote d’Ivoire and China.
