What do you think about Litecoin?

What do you think about Litecoin?

Litecoin is my favorite coin right now. Here is why:

  • A strong team led by Charlie Lee (recently left coinbase as head of engineering).
  • No toxic politics – bitcoin has this.
  • Limited supply of 84M coins vs Bitcoins 21M
  • Faster & cheaper transactions
  • Trading volume far outweighs its current market cap
  • The most undervalued coin in the crypto space
  • I’ve got a large position in it relative to other coins

Litecoin currently is my favorite instrument because of it’s relatively approachable cost and hence, please do take my opinion on it, coming from someone who really believes in it. Litecoin has many advantages. Litecoin has been there in existence since 2011.
Litecoin shares the deflationary nature of Bitcoin, it’s supply will taper down in a few years from now. However, Litecoin has a limit of 84million coins, which is 4 times higher than Bitcoin. The block generation time of Litecoin is approximately 2 minutes to Bitcoins 10 minutes. Hence, the speed of transactions on Litecoin would definitely be 4 times faster than Bitcoin itself.
I believe that Litecoin would be an extremely useful cryptocurrency going forwards in the future.

I’m disappointed by it. In 2012 I was regularly buying things with cryptos on the internet. At that time bitcoin took an hour to settle. Litecoin took ten minutes. Right then and there I knew bitcoin was going to have problems. Right now bitcoin fees are huge. Litecoin fees aren’t. They had won the tech battle, but they lost the PR battle. Now they’ve lost the tech battle to other alts. They’re essentially a dead project that hasn’t figured it out yet.

I used to have some. I bought it around 25 and sold it before it hit 50. I realized that nobody was using cryptocurrencies as currencies but as investment vehicles, and that during such a period, one should stick with the leader. So I got out of LTC and ETH and put it all into BTC. One day in the future, I hope LTC can be a real currency, not just an alt-coin, which right now, they all are. Their prices are dependent on Bitcoin in terms of market sentiment.

If you think about the Bitcoin as the gold of Cryptocurrencies, Litecoin is the silver. That’s why generally there is a correlation between the prices of Bitcoin and Litecoin.

A lot more since it has finally rallied to all-time highs. For day to day transactions their implementation and network of the scrypt also are by far superior to a vast majority of crypto coins out there.
