Swansea City Considering Sale Of Andre Ayew

English Premier League club Swansea City are considering offloading Ghanaian midfielder Andre Ayew at the end of the current season, as they look to reshuffle their squad and add fresh players to the roster.

The Ghana international left French club Marseille to join Swansea City in the Premier League during the transfer window at the start of the season, and has done fairly well at the club.

The son of Ghanaian football legend Abedi Pele refused to sign an extension to his contract with the Ligue 1 club, and he joined Swansea on a free transfer, signing a four-year deal.

He made an immediate impact at his new club on the opening day of the Premier League season, scoring in his side’s 2-2 away draw against current champions Chelsea, before scoring again in the second matchday to secure a 2-0 win over Newcastle United.

His excellent start to the EPL continued, but in the second half of the season his form has dropped somewhat.

According to Walesonline, the Welsh club is looking to undertake a major overhaul of their squad, with a view to improving their prospects in the next EPL campaign.

Ayew is reportedly amongst the list of players that could be sold in the transfer window, in order to acquire the cash needed for additional acquisitions.

He has been one of the star performers of the season for the Swans, and this could prompt the team to leverage him in a big money deal to fund the expected overhaul.

Swansea received offers for Ayew in January, with clubs such as Sunderland hoping to capture the Ghana player. At the time Swansea rejected the offers in favour of keeping the talented midfielder in the side, but circumstances now see the club reconsidering that stance.

Andre’s brother Jordan also made a move from the French league to the EPL, joining Aston Villa, who have now been relegated from the Premier League.
