The crumbling glamour of Maputo is the subject of Sarah Duff’s latest installment of  ‪#‎InLoveWithAfrica‬

AFKTravel recently launched the series, which comprises love letters to various African destinations, written by travel writers who are passionate about the continent.

In this installment, she wanders the streets of Maputo and finds some striking similarities with another big city. “To me, Maputo feels like an African version of Miami. There are the palm trees, the beaches, the Art Deco buildings painted in a rainbow of milkshake colors, the Havana-esque colonial façades and street cafés under big shady trees playing salsa music.”
