Bombadier Aerospace Opening in Johannesburg

Aircraft manufacturer Bombardier Aerospace of Canada announced plans Wednesday to open a regional support office and parts depot for Africa in South Africa.

The world’s No. 3 commercial and business aircraft manufacturer, Bombardier said it is upbeat about Africa. The company expects to sell 700 of its commercial aircraft on the continent over the next 20 years.

The support office and parts depot will cover the company’s commercial and business aircraft, and will be located at Lanseria International Airport northwest of  Johannesburg.

“If you want to be present in a market, you need a solid presence in services,” said Eric Martel, Bombardier Aerospace president for customer support and services.
