Kevin-Prince Boateng Joins AC Milan Until End Of Season

Ghanaian midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng has officially rejoined AC Milan on a free transfer, and will remain with the Italian Serie A club until at least the end of the current season.

The physical midfielder played for the Rossoneri between 2010 and 2013, before a transfer to Schalke 04 in the German Bundesliga.

Boateng has been training at AC Milan’s state-of-the-art facility Millanello for the last few months, as he has been without a club since May, when he was released from his contract at Schalke for reasons that were described as a break down in trust between club and player.

A tweet from the Italian club’s official Twitter handle revealed that the German-born player was back in the squad until the end of the season.

“AC Milan announce the signing of Kevin Prince Boateng, who has signed a contract until 30 June 2016. Now it’s official: welcome back Prince,” read the tweet.

Boateng decided to represent Ghana rather than Germany on the international stage, though he has had his fair share of controversy with the Black Stars.

He represented Ghana at the 2010 World Cup and then retired after the tournament only to return before the 2014 edition. He was then sent home during the tournament along with Sulley Muntari for bad conduct.

Milan’s next encounter takes place on Wednesday, January 6, with a Serie A match against Bologna, giving Boateng the possibility to play this week.
