Aubameyang: I Don’t Know My Limits Yet

Gabon striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has made it clear that he is content to remain at German club Borussia Dortmund for the foreseeable future, and he believes that he is yet to reach the limits of his abilities.

The player has been the subject of much transfer speculation due to his excellent form over the course of the year. His 27 goals in 26 appearances in all competitions over the course of the season thus far has ensured that he is in demand, and with the transfer window opening shortly, the inevitable rumours have begun circulating.

Aubameyang is one of the final three players in contention for the 2015 CAF African Player of the Year award, alongside Yaya Toure and Andre Ayew. The award will be presented at a gala event in Nigeria on January 7.

Speaking to Kicker, the 26-year-old talent from Gabon revealed that he is enjoying his football at the Bundesliga club, and wants to continue improving.

“I am very happy here. The people here accept me for who I am. Dortmund has become my second home,” Aubameyang stated.

“I learnt a lot through the clubs I’ve played for previously, both negative and positive. It’s made me a better person. Every goal I score feels like the first. It’s a special feeling to play in front of these fans. I don’t know my limits yet,” he added.

“I set personal goals every season, that’s very important to me. I have improved in every year I’ve been at Dortmund,” the player concluded.

Dortmund is currently second on the Bundesliga table on 38 points after 17 matches, behind Bayern Munich on 46 points.
