West Ham Coach Bilic: Victor Moses Is Class

West Ham United coach Slaven Bilic has praised Nigerian Victor Moses for his early contribution to his team, adding that the player is quality and will settle if given more time at a single club in the English Premier League.

The 24-year-old recently joined the Hammers in an effort to gain confidence and game time, and solidify his place on the wing. The move was a season-long loan, with Moses signing a new four-year contract at Chelsea before he was given permission to depart.

His new coach believes that he will settle in well if he is given continuity at one club. The Nigerian international has represented Chelsea, Liverpool and Stoke City in the past three seasons, but in the previous campaign at Stoke he regained some of the confidence that he lost at Stamford Bridge and Anfield.

Moses made his West Ham debut on September 14, contributing a great performance in a 2-0 home win against Newcastle United in which he was named man of the match.

Bilic was keen to compliment his new signing, defending him from critics who suggest he has struggled to feel comfortable in the EPL and give his best to a club.

“He (Moses) is a class player. He doesn’t have that continuity in one club in the Premier League which you need to settle down. He is a well-known name here and if people say he didn’t make it, it is because he is not getting the chances because the big clubs buy big players and it is hard for you to do it,” the coach explained at a press conference, according to SuperSport.

“Last season he played at Stoke and he was one of their best players. He has the quality to make a difference in the Premier League. His first game was very good for us. He had composure, linking the play and his work-rate was very good,” Bilic added.

West Ham’s next Premier League encounter takes place on Saturday evening against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium, and Moses will have a great opportunity to show his quality against tough opposition.
