Clinton N’Jie Completes Move To Tottenham

Cameroon striker Clinton N’Jie has officially completed his move from French club Olympique Lyonnais to English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur over the weekend.

The player travelled to London last week to complete a medical and finalise personal terms, in an estimated $15.6 million transfer from Ligue 1.

The 22-year-old signed a five-year deal to join coach Mauricio Pochettino at White Hart Lane, and boost the attacking options at his coach’s disposal.

Veteran striker Emmanuel Adebayor seemed destined to leave Tottenham before the transfer window closes at the end of the month, and now his departure will likely be a foregone conclusion following N’Jie’s capture.

The Cameroon international contributed eight goals in 33 appearances in all competitions with Lyon during the last campaign, coming off the bench for more than half of those encounters.

Already an established name with the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon, N’Jie has scored six goals in 11 fixtures, representing Cameroon at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The striker joined over the weekend, but was not able to take part in his London club’s English Premier League match against Stoke City at White Hart Lane.

The game ended in a 2-2 draw, with Mame Diouf scoring a late equaliser for Stoke following goals from Eric Dier and Nacer Chadli for Tottenham. Marko Arnautovic began Stoke’s comeback, but Diouf earning his side a useful away point.
