Cameroon’s Clinton N’Jie Set For Tottenham Move

Cameroon international Clinton N’Jie is closing in on a move from Ligue 1 side Olympique Lyonnais to English Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur.

The player is flying to London this week to complete a medical and finalise personal terms, which should be the final step before his transfer is confirmed.

According to the Daily Mail, the French and English clubs have agreed on a fee of around $15.6 million for the player’s transfer. There is also talk of an additional payment of $2.3m based on the striker’s performances for the North London club.

The 21-year-old has been compared to legendary African striker Samuel Eto’o thanks to his style and ability, and this comparison will certainly excite Spurs coach Mauricio Pochettino, who is looking to strengthen the club’s attacking options.

With veteran striker Emmanuel Adebayor possibly leaving Tottenham before the transfer window closes at the end of the month, N’Jie could be a worthy replacement, bringing youth and energy to the squad.

The Cameroonian scored eight goals in 33 appearances in all competitions with Lyon last season, and showed excellent form considering the fact that he came off the bench for more than half of those matches.

The youngster is already an established name with the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon, having scored six strikes in 11 appearances, and representing his country at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Equatorial Guinea earlier this year.

If his move is completed in time, he may be able to feature for Spurs in their Premier League encounter against Stoke City at White Hart Lane this coming weekend.
