With just under a month to go before the transfer market closes in most of Europe, Ghanaian Baba Rahman is on the verge of completing his move from Augsburg in Germany to English Premier League champions Chelsea.
The talented defender has attracted serious interest from the likes of Paris St-Germain, Real Madrid, Juventus and Roma, with each club attempting to lure the Ghana international to their team, but Chelsea’s dedication to the cause has brought them to the medical stage, which makes his transfer inevitable.
The 21-year-old has been one of the top performers at his German club, and despite the fact that the Bundesliga outfit have been denying that they would let the player go, his time at the Fuggerstadter seems to be at an end, with a new adventure in England on the horizon.
According to The Metro, the two clubs involved have agreed on a fee of around $27.3 million for the defender’s transfer, with four years remaining on his current contract with the Germans.
Rahman is likely Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho’s replacement for Brazilian defender Filipe Luis, who was sold back to former Spanish club Atletico Madrid.
The Black Stars full back was a pillar of strength at left back for Ghana during their campaign at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Equatorial Guinea at the beginning of the year, where the side ended as runners up to eventual winners Cote D’Ivoire.
