Andre Ayew Off The Mark At Swansea

New Swansea City signing Andre Ayew scored his first goal for the English Premier League club this Saturday in a 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest in a club friendly.

Ayew completed an excellent individual moment of skill by flicking on a Kyle Naughton pass before running after the flick and finishing with aplomb from eight yards in the second half to put Swansea in the lead.

Robert Tesche equalised later in the match to end the encounter in a stalemate, but Ghana international Ayew was able to register his first goal for his new team.

The son of Ghanaian football legend Abedi Pele joined Swansea on a free transfer from Ligue 1 side Marseille, signing a four-year deal to keep him at the club for the long-term.

The 25-year-old was in demand once it was made known that he would be leaving France, with clubs in England, Italy and Germany displaying their interest in the talented winger.

Manchester United, Arsenal, Newcastle United, Tottenham, Everton and Liverpool have all been linked to Ayew, while German sides Bayer Leverkusen, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Wolfsburg were also rumoured to be monitoring him. In Italy Inter Milan, AC Milan, Napoli and Roma wanted the player.
